A_MYN_LogoNEW_LgCircle_001We use an award-winning tool provided by the state called  Map Your Neighborhood (MYN).
While this is a very complete and easy-to-use tool, we have learned over the years that we can add value by helping new organizers get started and by providing ongoing support and resources.

This page is intended to be used in conjunction with MYN and the materials available through the Jefferson County Dept. of Emergency Management by providing enhanced MYN tools plus tools developed locally by either the Neighborhood Preparedness (NPREP) action group or our many active Neighborhood Organizers.

Additional MYN related tools

MYN Overview – This presentation describes the why and how for MYN, created by NPREP member and Marrowstone Island Organizer Pete Hubbard.

MYN Videos – A series of 11 YouTube videos that help you run your neighborhood’s MYN meeting.  These are the same official videos distributed by DVD with the MYN documents.

MYN for RURAL AREAS – The MYN works great for compact neighborhoods, but our organizers here in Jefferson County discovered some enhancements that make it work just as well for our rural areas.  Patricia Earnest, Mary TennBrink and Janet Welch of Marrowstone Island created this version that has been approved by our Department of Emergency Management.

Your Neighborhood Map – MYN provides space to draw your neighborhood.  This ‘how-to’ document steps you through locating and printing your neighborhood from the official City or County maps.
