A Public Forum on Community Values and Transportation will be held Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 7 to 9 pm at QUUF, 2333 San Juan Ave in Port Townsend.
The future we want is found at the intersection of transportation and community values. Join our conversation.
The goals for the evening are 1) to broaden the conversation surrounding transportation and access within, to, and from Port Townsend; 2) to raise awareness among citizens about the relationship between transportation and our community values: and 3) to lay the groundwork for creating a future plan for movement.
Panelists include Tim Caldwell, Former Director of Port Townsend Chamber of Commerce; Vern Garrison, General Contractor; Sarah Doyle, North Olympic Salmon Coalition; Evan Ross, Owner of Cycle Portland; Margaret Lee, Resident & active politico; David Engle, Retired Port Townsend School Superintendent and Jack McCreary, Disability Activist.
Following very short introductions, panelists will have about 7 minutes to address the following: In what ways does our existing transportation system affect your broader community values and in what ways would a different transportation system create the community values you envision?
Presentations by panelists will take about 1 hour. Then audience members will have opportunities to add additional ideas, ask questions or express concerns. They will also have an opportunity to write down additional questions or ideas on paper, and turn those in at the end of the evening. We will also announce our next event at that time, and encourage participants and panelists to join us as we look more deeply into transportation in our community.
