Local 20/20 Beyond Waste Group Meeting – Wed, Oct 2nd *New*
The Beyond Waste Action Group looks at a number of issues including food waste composting, plastics reduction and recycling, reduction of garbage on an individual and community level, and various other waste-related topics that spontaneously come up during the meeting. Free Worshop on Zen and Contemplative Practices – Wed, Oct 2nd
This workshop will teach a range of Zen and contemplative practices for dwelling in silence. Readings from the Buddha in Blue Jeans anthology plus interactive discussions will focus on refining your daily spiritual life and insights into emptiness, loving kindness, and inner-being. Local 20/20 Climate Group Meeting – Thur, Oct 3rd *New*
The Local 20/20 Climate Action Group‘s scope includes reducing greenhouse gases, increasing carbon sequestration, and preparing for climate impacts. Newcomers are most welcome! Tour of the Hedgerow – Sat, Oct 5th
Hailey Lampe of Cruising Climate has started a food forest and wants you to come see! Using regenerative methods, Lampe has started converting a 1/2 acre hedgerow into a demonstration, food-producing ecosystem. The space is in the “during” phase of its conversion, meaning you will get to see some of the behind-the-scenes work that goes into creating a farm. Registration is required. Also, please keep in mind this is a working farm- footing is uneven and may be difficult or impassable for folks requiring mobility supports. Email for more information.

First Sunday at Camas Prairie Golf Park – Sun, Oct 6th
The Friends of Port Townsend Golf Park invite you to come take a walk on the fairways, have a bite to eat, and enjoy some music at Camas Prairie Park! There will be fun for kids on the driving range, nature walks, music from Cowboy Singer Jack Dwyer, and hot dogs and bratwurst in the clubhouse. Rain or shine. Admission is free, donations accepted. It’s the 8th “First Sunday” since the Friends began operating the 100-year-old public course as a park for golfers and non-golfers alike. You own it — come check it out!
