Port Townsend StyroCycler styrofoam recycling event – Tue, Nov 5th *New*
Only white styrofoam (EPS), all colors of polyethylene (LDPE-4), white EPS food trays, and separated biodegradable (squishy) vs EPS (crispy) packing peanuts (no mixtures) are accepted. CLEAN and DRY materials only. Remove all tape, labels, etc., before you arrive and combine your materials with those of your neighbors and friends. Check the Port Townsend StyroCyclers Facebook page for possible weather cancellations. Email with questions.

Get your ballot in an official dropbox or in the mail by November 5. Links are now available to watch the debates for the candidates for Washington’s Secretary of State, Commissioner of Public Lands, Superintendent of Public Instruction, and U.S. Senate. View the candidates for these state-wide positions here. You can also view the debates for the 24th Legislative District races and the Jefferson County Commissioner’s race and get more information on the four initiatives appearing on the ballot here.

Join us for this free community gathering in which people with repair skills share their time and talents to fix their neighbors’ belongings. Bring your toaster that no longer toasts, sweater with a hole in the elbow, and excitement to get these belongings repaired while also learning how they did it and ways you could do it yourself next time! Jefferson County Historical Society Dino Day – Sat, Nov 9th
The Jefferson County Historical Society is excited to host the Burke Museums traveling BurkeMobile Dig In program! Learn how the three types of rocks that make up our planet are formed from minerals. Uncover the dynamic, shifting nature of our planet with activities focusing on continental drift and plate tectonics. Find out how paleontologists “read” the fossil record for clues about what the world used to look like. Then become a paleontologist yourself by excavating fossils from dig pits and exploring exhibits with fossils and cast replicas of plants and animals from the Paleozoic, Mesozoic, and Cenozoic Eras.
