Mindful Self-Compassion After School Program for Teens – Wed, Apr 23 through Wed, Jun 11th
The Benji Project is offering an 8 week after school program for teens in downtown Port Townsend. Discover mindful-self compassion through art, games and reflection. Explore ways to navigate the ups and downs of life, through fun activities in a supportive community. Tuition is $250 with the option to pay what you wish. No one is turned away for lack of funds. Earth Day Celebration at Finnriver – Sun, Apr 27th
April 22nd is a worldwide celebration of ‘Earth Day’, but at Finnriver their mission is always to celebrate the beauty and bounty of the earth and to reconnect people to the land that sustains us. They’ll be celebrating Earth Day the weekend after with guided cider tastings, an orchard walk, community presentations, tabling by local organizations, and live music! Presentations include talks on solar energy, clean energy upgrades, bike touring and safety, what is happening at the city/county Climate Action Committee, and more! Learn more here.

Film Screening: Greening Africa: Food Forest Mega-Projects – Sat, Apr 26th
Explore ambitious land recovery projects in the Sahel as part of Africa’s Great Green Wall initiative. These projects harness permaculture principles to harvest rainwater, increase food security, and rehabilitate ecosystems, offering hope for some of the world’s most challenging environments.
This showing is part of the Global Earth Repair Foundation‘s series of films on climate solutions. Film screening followed by group discussion. Earth Day: Make a Direct Impact – Sat, Apr 26th
This Earth Day weekend, dedicate your time to meaningful, hands-on activities that directly benefit the environment. Participate in two impactful volunteering opportunities: Invasive Species Pull: Join a community effort to remove invasive plants that threaten our ecosystems. Beach Clean-Up: Take part in a shoreline cleanup to remove trash and plastic debris from our beautiful beaches. Specific locations will be provided via email after registration on Eventbrite. Friends of Fort Flagler is a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring, preserving, and protecting the natural and historic resources of Fort Flagler State Park. Please support our state park by becoming a member, volunteering, or donating.

Quilcene Repair Event – Sat, Apr 26th
Join JeffCo Repair for this free community gathering in which people with repair skills share their time and talents to fix their neighbors’ belongings. Bring your toaster that no longer toasts, sweater with a hole in the elbow, and excitement to get these belongings repaired while also learning how they did it and ways you could do it yourself next time!
At this Quilcene Repair Event, we will have volunteers donating their time to help repair: small appliances/electronics; textiles/clothes; bicycles; and other household items. There will also be tool and knife sharpening and basic tech support along with assistance with general computer skills.
