Nature Always Wins: Gardening Strategies to Even the Odds – Tue, Aug 12th *New*
Julia Cordz, a certified professional horticulturist and Master Gardener volunteer, will share ideas for growing ornamentals in harmony with our hooved and furry neighbors. There’s no such thing as a completely animal resistant garden, but there are strategies that can minimize how much of your landscape gets devoured.
Food For Thought is a free series offered by the Quimper Grange to examine ”all things food & growing” in our area. Doors open at 6:15. All are welcome – the Grange has ADA access.

Public Meeting: Friends of the East Jefferson County Trails Connections – Thu, Aug 14th
Trail & Active Transportation Updates from Steve King, P.E., City of Port Townsend Director of Public Works: The City of Port Townsend staff will provide information about the Active Transportation Plan update that is underway and recent grant successes. Additionally, the City will discuss several planning studies that will improve active transportation including the extensions of the Olympic Discovery Trail. Of note will be changes underway at Boat Haven and plans for the ferry terminal area. You are invited!

Trees: Weavers of the Forest – Sat, Aug 16th
Visit Fort Flagler Historical State Park for a fascinating event all about the incredible world of trees! Learn about how trees are the true weavers of the forest, connecting all living things in a delicate web of life. Discover the many ways trees provide for us, from clean air to shelter for wildlife. JCFM Farm-to-Table Benefit Dinner – Sun, Aug 17th
Join Jefferson County Farmer’s Market for the fourth annual Farm-to-Table Benefit Dinner at the beautiful Kodama Farm & Food Forest. This intimate community gathering and meal on the farm generates critical funds for the JCFM food assistance programs. The first $20,000 proceeds from the event directly provide nutritious food to children and adults experiencing food insecurity. Additional funds raised support JCFM’s continued work hosting markets that build community and support agriculture and art as viable parts of our local economy. The dinner is a 21+ event.
