*Announcements Editing Team Volunteer Opportunity*
Do you enjoy this newsletter? Do you have a passion for building local sustainability and resilience? Help out by joining our volunteer editing team! Working individually, from the comfort of your home, you can share in the process of reviewing newsletter submissions, editing them for brevity and clarity, and confirming that they remain current. The role requires basic writing and computer skills and an interest in supporting our community. Coaching in MailChimp will be provided, and a byline is an option for the lead editor each week. It is a fun and rewarding way to contribute to our community and learn more about what is happening. Time involved is usually about three to six hours per week. Email us to learn more!

Join the Friends of Fort Flagler for a walk on the beach to find and talk about the Pacific Harbor Seals. This will be a fun-filled day of seal-watching! With luck, you’ll witness these adorable creatures in their natural habitat. Binoculars are recommended. This free event promises to be a memorable experience for all ages. Local 20/20 TLab Meeting – Mon, Aug 26th
The Transportation Lab is a Local 20/20 Action Group working to promote a transportation system that minimizes the need for personal motor vehicles. Such a transportation system must be safe, convenient, and healthy, and it must be based on walking, the most healthful mode; bicycling, the most efficient mode; mass transit, the most efficient for moving large numbers of people; and a vastly reduced personal and service VMT (vehicle miles traveled). TLab generally meets monthly, always on the fourth Monday of the month, and welcomes anyone interested in these issues to attend. Meeting location varies; for current location or for more information, please email Carol.
