Everyone’s invited to enjoy a sociable evening with live Irish traditional music. There’s a burn ban on but they’ll have a small propane grill so bring something to grill and a side dish to share. Carroll Park’s Rotary Pavilion Dabob Days Beach Cleanup & English Ivy Removal – Fri, Aug 11th *New* Support the ongoing restoration and protection of the Tarboo watershed, from the headwaters of Tarboo Creek to Tarboo-Dabob Bay, by volunteering at monthly Dabob Days projects with Northwest Watershed Institute! For consumers, bananas are a delicious and nutritious start to the day, a healthy snack and a fixture in our fruit bowls. For millions of residents in the banana lands, the production of bananas means social upheaval, violence and pesticide poisoning. Banana Land: Blood, Bullets, and Poison explores the origins of these disparate realities, and opens the conversation on how workers, producers and consumers can address this disconnect. In the mornings, students experience the outdoors, museum and aquarium exhibits guided by Port Townsend Marine Science Center educators. And in the afternoon, artist Mikal Robinson leads crafts, stories and games to play as we learn more about the ocean and all it’s delightful creatures.
