June 29 (Sunday), 2:30 to 5:00 PM, Elwha Klallam Heritage Center, 401 East First Street, Port Angeles
A new group is forming to lobby our Jefferson County and Clallam County federal congresspeople on climate change. This is part of a national/international organization, the Citizens Climate Lobby (CCL). In just six years, that organization has grown to over 180 chapters in the US and Canada. Dr James Hansen says about it: “Most impressive is the work of the Citizens Climate Lobby….If you want to join the fight to save the planet, …there is no more effective step you could take than becoming an active member of this group.” Workshop facilitator: Louise Stonington, Washington State Coordinator for CCL. This workshop is the kickoff event for the newly forming Jefferson County and Clallam County teams, so now is your chance to get involved from the start. There is a social half-hour from 2:30-3:00, a chance to informally meet others involved in climate change on the North Olympic Peninsula, and the workshop will start promptly at 3:00.
Contact Cindy@l2020.org for more details or to carpool to the event.
