Housing+Sanitation series: Wrapping up Loose Ends – Tues, Dec 13th *New*
Local sanitation professionals Janet Welsh and Amanda Christofferson will lead the final session of the HSN-PHLUSH learning series. Welch was recruited from the Health Department in Olympia to start the Jefferson County Water Quality Program and to identify the sources of bacterial pollution in Quilcene Bay. After starting her own business, she worked the next two decades as a septic system designer. Christofferson holds a B.S. in microbiology from UW and has experience in both lab research and housing. She currently serves Jefferson County as an Environmental Health Specialist on the Water Quality and On-site Septic teams. Stories of Us: Camp Second Chance – Mon, Dec 19th *New*
Join Meaningful Movies and special guest Director Melinda Raebyne on Monday, December 19 at 6:30 PM for an online screening of Stories of Us: Camp Second Chance.
In this powerful award winning film, director Melinda Raebyne embeds herself one winter at one of Seattle’s homeless camps, Camp Second Chance, challenging public ignorance and humanizing a population that locals would rather neglect, sharing with you some of their personal stories and her actual experience of what it’s like to be homeless.
