The North Olympic Development Council is organizing a public forum on drought issues in Jefferson County. Questions to be answered include: What do we know? What makes this year a drought? What does a drought emergency declaration mean here? Can we expect more of the same in the future? Where does our water come from? What are some strategies for responding now and in the future? Speakers include representatives from WA Dept of Ecology, WSU, Jefferson County PUD, City of Port Townsend, Jefferson County, Port Townsend Paper, etc. 6-8 pm, Chimacum High school Auditorium, 91 W. Valley Road, Chimacum. Contact Kate Dean for details. And see here for more details on the drought situation in Jefferson County.
