This Week
Stitch N’ Fix Workshop – Tues, Jun 18th *New*
Do you have the sweater with the unraveling hole, the shirt with a stain, or the blanket with a tear? Come and mend them! Whether you want to mend in the company of others or need guidance on the best route to mending your belongings, volunteers will be ready to teach you some mending skills and direct you to helpful resources. They will also have fun supplies and tools available to use, including a sewing machine! Please bring yarn or thread if you have it. Sponsored by the Port Townsend Marine Science Center (PTMSC), which welcomes participants ages 12 and up to this event. For participants under the age of 18, PTMSC requires emergency contact information and this completed liability waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Email this form to Mandi, or bring a signed hard copy on the day of the event. The next Stitch N’ Fix workshops will be held on July 5th and 16th.
Time: 6 – 8 pm | Location: “Repair It!” Exhibit in the Flagship Landing Building, 1001 Water St, Port Townsend
Summer Solstice Celebration – Thurs, June 20th *New*
Sponsored by Quimper Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (QUUF), join Katy Taylor and Susan Landau in the QUUF Courtyard for an earth-based, family-friendly community gathering to mark the turning of the year at the peak of light. This participatory gathering will include casting the circle, singing, sharing, releases and intentions, meditation, and a fire. Bring your own camp chair or blanket, rattles and shakers, and some summer abundance to share (flowers, fresh bread, cookies, etc. – fingerfood only.) If it rains, we’ll be in the Fellowship Hall (with chairs). For questions, email Katy Taylor.

Electronics Exploration and Repair Workshop – Thurs, Jun 20th *New*
Do you have an electronic item that needs repair? Or perhaps you’ve always wanted to take your electronics apart to explore what’s inside or clean them up, but you’ve been apprehensive? This workshop will have the space, tools, and volunteer expertise to help you do this. If you don’t have your own machine to take apart, there will be extras that will be available to explore freely! For this workshop, you will be at the helm of repairing and exploring your belongings. Volunteers will help guide you in finding the resources you’ll need, answer questions, and support you with the skills that may be necessary to complete your goal/repair. This is a drop-in workshop, so feel free to come and go as you please, but do allow yourself enough time to complete the project you are working on. Electronics that would be appropriate to bring are items like video game consoles, laptops, printers, etc. Sponsored by the Port Townsend Marine Science Center (PTMSC), which welcomes participants ages 12 and up. For participants under the age of 18, PTMSC requires emergency contact information and this completed liability waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Email this form to Mandi, or bring a signed hard copy on the day of the event. The next electronics and repair workshop will be held on July 18th.

Wild Church Port Townsend – Sat, Jun 22nd*New*
Sponsored by Quimper Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, join Katy Taylor to gather in with creation, with other folks, and with the other beings on this earth. They practice together to move from human being to earth being, in reverence and respect for earth, on the 4th Saturday of every month. There are three mostly equal parts: Greeting/Grounding, Wandering/Wondering, Circling-Up/Sharing. They meet outside, in rain, snow, or shine, unless the conditions are severe enough to pose a safety concern. Please dress for the weather! Children are welcome, but parents need to help guide them. If wandering is not accessible, remaining in the circle is an option, too. Bring a chair! A Discover Pass is required to park. Read more and find directions here, and join the Wild Church email list by contacting Katy Taylor.
Time: 10 – 11:30 am | Location: Fort Townsend State Park, 1370 Old Fort Townsend Rd, Port Townsend
