‘Tis the season for king tides. Here is the latest one, from December 26th. Not quite as impressive as the Dec 20 one, even though the predicted tide level was higher, as the winds and low pressure were not quite as strong this time.
King Tides offer a chance to visualize the effects of a rising sea level, and Local 20/20’s Climate Action Group regularly monitors these tides. You can learn more about the project in this post. The photos from the project are shared on a website set up by Washington Sea Grant.
