Grow Your Own Mushrooms! – Tue, Mar 11th
In this free Food For Thought presentation, Lowell Dietz of Dietz Mushroom Farm will share the process for growing mushrooms at home, indoors or outdoors. He will discuss ideal mediums in which to spread spawn, and the best varieties of wood logs to inoculate.

NODC Farm Grant Presentation – Wed, Mar 12th *New*
Join the NODC Farm and Food Business Development team and NODC grant writer and former USDA grant reviewer Angela Glore for an overview of grant opportunities for farms and farmers. Learn how to find grant opportunities, the pluses and minuses of pursuing grants, and what happens once you send in an application. You’ll also learn how NODC’s programs can support your food or farm business, including providing one-on-one advice about grants. This is a free event and regional farmers are encouraged to attend.

Marine Science Trivia Night with PTMSC – Thu, Mar 13th
Drink some cider, eat some food, and test your marine science knowledge! Join the Port Townsend Marine Science Center for a night of marine science-themed trivia! The entry fee per team is a sliding scale ($5 – $20/team) with a limit of 6 people per team. There will be four rounds of marine-science themed trivia (think whales, seals, and seabirds – oh my!). Prizes for the winning team include a guided tasting tour for two at Finnriver Farm & Cidery and a gift card to PTMSC. Teams are encouraged to wear PTMSC apparel to the event. Friends of the East Jefferson Trails Coalition Public Meeting – Thu, Mar 13th
This public meeting will feature an exciting update from Steve Durrant on the Puget Sound to Pacific Collaborative (PS2P) in March here at Finn River. There will also be an update and future planning discussion regarding this grant that was secured by Bainbridge Island Parks and Trails, North Kitsap Trail Association, and the Peninsula Trail Coalition and will be administered by WSDOT.
