Beyond Waste Action Group Meeting – Wed, Mar 5th
The Beyond Waste Action Group meets the first Wednesday of each month at 10:30 a.m.-12:00 pm via zoom. The group looks at a number of issues including food-waste composting, plastics reduction and recycling, reduction of garbage on an individual and community level, and various other waste-related topics that spontaneously come up during the meeting. Local 20/20 Climate Group – Thu, Mar 6th
The Local 20/20 Climate Group meets monthly, on the first Thursday, in person or online. The group is focused on both reducing greenhouse gas emissions and preparing for climate impacts.

Reconnecting Kids to Nature Through Outdoor Education – Thu, Mar 6th
Jefferson Land Trust’s annual Conservation Breakfast is a free, virtual event. Join Jefferson Land Trust as we gather online to welcome Richard Louv, celebrated author of Last Child in the Woods: Saving our Children from Nature-Deficit Disorder. He’ll discuss the strong link between mental health, learning, and outdoor experiences, as well as explore the challenges of Nature-Deficit Disorder when these experiences are absent in a child’s life. You’ll also hear about the steps the Land Trust is taking to ensure that all students in our community have access to nature-based outdoor education. There’s no cost to attend! Saving Nature: One Yard at a Time – Fridays, Mar 7th through Apr 4th *New*
Wild critters of all kinds are in serious trouble these days. You can help! Make a sanctuary for wild neighbors. If you build it, they will come. Session 1 introduced native bees (not honeybees). Session 2 explores native beneficial insects. Session 3 presents native butterflies. Session 4 covers native songbirds. Session 5 is various projects to invite wildlife into the garden with food and shelter. This free class runs for 5 sessions on Fridays. Instructors: David Deardorff & Kathryn Wadsworth. Jefferson County Connectivity Summit – Fri, Mar 7th through Sun, Mar 9th
The Jefferson County Connectivity Summit is a groundbreaking civic engagement event designed to strengthen the connections in our community and increase our effectiveness at working together. Formerly known as the Connectivity Fair and the Job and Trades Fair, this event combines the two. Friday focuses on youth. Saturday there will be a gym full of tables representing local organizations. Sunday offers more presentations and engaging community building experiences, followed up by the “Big Feed”, a community meal. Growing Potatoes, Garden-Know-How – Sat, Mar 8th
Join WSU Master Gardener Dianna Wiklund for an engaging Garden-Know-How session focused on Growing Potatoes! This event features a short presentation followed by a Q&A, with plenty of helpful resources available. Dianna, a Master Gardener with over 20 years of experience growing food in Jefferson County, will share her expertise. More than 75% of her family’s diet comes from her homegrown garden. Dianna also coordinates and educates local Food Bank Growers, making her a true community resource for sustainable gardening. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from a seasoned expert and get your gardening questions answered!

Grow Ecosystems with Regenerative Routines – Sun, Mar 9th or Thu, Mar 13th
Our cultivated spaces, whether they are yards, gardens, farms, or something in between, can help create larger ecosystems. Healthy soil, water-wise habits, biodiversity, and intentional layouts can connect your space to the ecology around you. This class will explore how you can interact with your space in a way that fosters ecosystem growth.
