Local Initiatives Action Group – Local 20/20 – Mon March 4th:
Local Initiatives Action Group will facilitate community action by providing logistical support for the implementation of solution oriented projects. The global problem is a product of large-scale, centralized ideology. By building small-scale, decentralized solutions on the community level, we can create here in Jefferson County a model for communities everywhere. Community projects of this kind will initiate a change in the current of our society in ways the political process simply cannot. We will discuss proposed projects and work on the current logistics of the plastic recycling project. Bring your experience, skills and ideas for action.
Time: 5:30- 6:30 p.m. Location: The Pink House at the PT library, 1220 Lawrence St.,PT
Chester Square Art Installation Event – Sat March 9th:
Come celebrate history at the Uptown Courtyard! Local 20/20’s Resiliency of the Heart Action Group will help install a mixed-media mural. The inspiration for the name of the courtyard, “Chester Square”, commemorates property owner Malcolm Dorn’s dog Chester. Over 40 volunteers worked on the project, spanning nearly a year.
