It was proposed in direct response to the movements for racial justice that exploded in 2020. After 26 million people entered the streets in 2020 demanding abolition and defunding, the city of Atlanta responded by increasing funding for the police and proposing to destroy 385 acres of forest in order to construct a $90 million militarized police training facility. Preceding the film, a defendant facing domestic terrorism charges for opposing the destruction of the Weelaunee Forest will give a presentation on the state repression faced by the movement. These repressive measures are a threat to all climate activists in the 21st century. Find out more about the movement. Learn about the film. $10-20 donation at the door.
