You have probably seen the news on the new report from the International Panel on Climate Change that summarizes the need to limit global temperatures to 1.5’C (2.7’F), and the urgent need to act to limit temperatures to that level. What does that mean to you? Here are a few good articles. The Guardian has a summary of personal actions, including noting that “Bill McKibben, a leading climate campaigner and founder of 350.org, argues that the most important thing people can do is come together to form movements – or join existing groups – that can “push for changes big enough to matter”, from city-wide renewable energy programmes to large-scale divestment from fossil fuels.”
CNN also has a summary of what consumers can do.
Local 20/20 is compiling a summary of the report, with a focus on what it means to Jefferson County, and what we need to be doing. If you want to get involved, contact Cindy.
