Rainwater Collection 101 – Thu, Nov 14th
The Olympic Peninsula is renowned for abundant rainfall. But the majority of rain falls from October to April, leaving summers dry. Drought by late summer is not uncommon, leaving fish, farmers, gardeners and communities with water woes. Tim Pope, former president of the American Rainwater Catchment Systems Association, has worked for decades helping individuals, communities and businesses cope with water supply challenges. Pope will share that experience in a program on the basics of planning and building rainwater collection systems. The program is sponsored by Olympic Climate Action, a grass-roots group seeking a safe, prosperous, sustainable future for Olympic Peninsula residents by addressing the threat of climate change.
This free presentation will last about an hour, with time for questions afterward. Olympic Climate Action hopes to have a Zoom option available. Register here to attend via Zoom.
