Meaningful Movies Port Townsend Presents: “Disturbing the Peace” – Mon, Nov 13th *New*
“Disturbing the Peace” is about people born into conflict, sworn to be enemies, who challenged their fate. The film follows everyday people who took extraordinary actions by standing for what they believe in, just like those who came before them – Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, and many others whose names we don’t know. The movie challenges all of us to understand the narratives we live within, to look at our current roles in our societies, and to decide what role we are going to play in creating a more humane world for all. EV Carshare Ribbon Cutting – Wed, Nov 15th
ZEV co-op, along with the Chamber of Jefferson County, the Jefferson County/City of Port Townsend joint Climate Action Committee (CAC), the City of Port Townsend, and OlyCAP, will hold a ribbon-cutting event to celebrate and bring awareness of the recent launch of the new ZEV coop EV carshare program in the City of Port Townsend. The City, Chamber, and OlyCAP partnered with ZEV Coop to successfully apply for funding for a low income EV carshare program through a WSDOT ZAP grant. The partnerships came out of the CAC EV Work group, which was established to help speed the transition to EVs in Jefferson County as one way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This specific program was especially desirable because of its ability to make EVs accessible to a wider range of residents, and the potential for households and businesses to use the carshare as an extra car, reducing the number of cars owned. There are currently two EV carshare cars available in Port Townsend, a Chevy Bolt EUV at the Chamber, and a Chevy Bolt EV at OlyCAP 7th Haven. Each site will be getting an additional EV in the next year. Community leaders and carshare representatives will present at the event. Learn more about the program and how you can sign up at ZEV co-op.
Time: 12:30 – 2:30 pm | Location: The Chamber of Jefferson County, 2409 Jefferson St B, Port Townsend.
