This Week
Meaningful Movies Screening: Fish War – Mon, Oct 20th
When the state of Washington made it illegal for tribes to fish for salmon in their usual and accustomed places, it was a declaration of war. Fish War follows the tribes’ fight to exercise their treaty-reserved fishing rights. A panel discussion will follow the film. Admission is free but donations gratefully accepted.
Fish War is presented by Meaningful Movies in cooperation with the Northwest Indian Fisheries Commission (NWIFC), a support service organization for the 20 treaty Indian tribes in western Washington that are co-managers of the region’s salmon and other natural resources with the state of Washington.

Calling Local Photographers!
Local 20/20 Weekly Announcements invites local photographers to submit images that capture the character of our community and its natural setting. For the opening photo of each weekly email (which is also posted to our website), we seek local color, horizontal (“landscape”) orientation, and jpeg format. Please no children, pets, or recognizable faces. Kindly email your photos, including your name in the jpeg filename. If you’re sending multiple images, please send one per email. We are an all-volunteer non-profit, so compensation for your talent and generosity is a photo credit and our profound thanks.
