Come join others from across the Olympic Peninsula to take to the streets for a safe climate, justice for all, and a prosperous clean-energy economy. We’ll be joining a huge march in Washington, D.C. and dozens of sister marches around the world to send a message of resolve on climate, jobs and justice. The march kicks off at 3 pm at the Port Angeles City Pier. After walking through downtown Port Angeles, the march will end back at the pier at approximately 4 pm, and speakers from across the peninsula will speak about climate impacts, actions and opportunities on the Olympic Peninsula. Jefferson County will be well represented with Mayor Deb Stinson and Jefferson County Commissioner Kate Dean among the speakers. To carpool from Jefferson County, contact Cindy. Parking will be available at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E 4th St.
The peaceful local march is being organized by the Sierra Club North Olympic Group and Olympic Climate Action group and is partnering with organizations throughout the peninsula (including Local 20/20). We march to protect our right to clean air, water, land and healthy communities, and to advance solutions to our climate crisis.
