| This Week League of Women Voters County Commissioner Candidate Forum – Tues, Sept 3rd *New* Watch County Commissioner candidates Heather Dudley-Nollette and Ben Thomas answer questions live on Zoom on Sept 3rd at 5:30 pm. The League of Women Voters-Jefferson County holds their forums on zoom and the videos of the forums are later posted on their website, so all can hear them. Local 20/20 Beyond Waste Group Meeting – Wed, Sep 4th The Beyond Waste Action Group looks at a number of issues including food waste composting, plastics reduction and recycling, reduction of garbage on an individual and community level, and various other waste-related topics that spontaneously come up during the meeting. Time: 10:30 am – 12 pm | Location: Online Local 20/20 Climate Group Meeting – Thur, Sep 5th The Local 20/20 Climate Action Group‘s scope includes reducing greenhouse gases, increasing carbon sequestration, and preparing for climate impacts. NOTE: Containers holding fuel, paint, etc. will not be returned. *Antifreeze, motor oil, fluorescent lights, and lithium, button, and rechargeable batteries are not accepted at collection events.
