A space for casual community conversations around issues relating to housing affordability in Jefferson County. This month’s conversation will be focused on “Port Townsend’s Comprehensive Plan Draft” and the special guest is Port Townsend Planning Commission Chair Rick Jahnke. Free Homeowner Septic System Class – Thu, Sep 25th
Taking care of your septic system is an important part of protecting public health as well as our beautiful and valuable water resources. It can also save you money by extending the life of your septic system and prevent costly repairs. JCPH is offering free combined Septics 101 & 201 classes to homeowners about septic system operation, maintenance, and inspection. Classes are free, but registration is required. Space is limited. Please note: there is a $13.65 fee for homeowners who are eligible and want to become authorized to inspect their own system. Contact 360-385-9444 or register online.

Volunteer Orientation: Department of Emergency Management – Thu, Sep 25th
Join a community of volunteers working together to support a variety of emergency preparedness & response efforts in Jefferson County. Seeking volunteers interested in amateur/HAM radio, those with medical backgrounds (doctor, nurse, EMT, etc.), other emergency response (firefighters, Incident Command System) or other specialized skills. If you do not have any specialized experience, this event can assist in finding the best program to fit your interests and experience. This is a great way to create connections & learn new skills. Bless the Beasts and Children 0.5k “Fun Run” Fundraiser – Sun Sep 28th
More of a stroll vs a run, this event benefits the Humane Society of Jefferson County WA, The YMCA’s Building Futures, Foster Support’s Kicks for Kids, and AEF’s STEAM projects (think kids teaching kids robotics!)
