In celebration of Earth Week, the Port Townsend / Jefferson County Climate Action Committee will hold a special meeting featuring a presentation by Laura Tucker and Hank Walker. Laura and Hank will be presenting slides and videos of their experiences at the Council of the Parties (COP21), the groundbreaking climate conference last December in Paris, France. They will also showcase innovative ideas and actions that can be done by local citizens. During the conference, students from Port Townsend classrooms were able to speak directly with young climate scientists and advocates by video-conference. Highlights from these interviews will be presented. Students from both Port Townsend and Chimacum schools sent cards with Laura and Hank to be shared with participants at the conference, providing a personal connection from our community to communities around the globe.
