DSHS Mobile Office Services at Quilcene Food Bank – Wed, Aug 5th *New*
The Department of Social and Health Services Mobile Community Office will be in Quilcene offering services such as food benefits (SNAP), EBT cards, cash assistance and some medical programs along with other services such as eligibility reviews and updating case information.

PT Library Summer Reading Program: Art in the Park – Wed, Aug 5th
Meet at the gazebo for a sketching demonstration and art scavenger hunt with Art Toolkit Founder and Expeditionary Artist Maria Coryell-Martin. Bring your favorite sketchbook and supplies, and there will be a selection of Art Toolkit watercolor palettes and brushes available to borrow! This free event is part of the Port Townsend Public Library’s Summer Reading Program and is open to enthusiastic artists of all ages and levels. Tenant Organizing: Shared Stories, Shared Power, Collective Action – Sat, Aug 8th
Two-hour facilitated community conversations for people who rent in Jefferson County for the purpose of creating a welcoming first step toward tenant and renter power in Jefferson County. These conversations are designed to help renters feel less alone, recognize that individual struggles are connected to broader systems, and explore what might be possible when renters come together. Olympic Angels free community book read discussion – Sat, Aug 8th *Updated*
Many children in our communities experience foster care which puts them at much higher risk for life-long challenges such as homelessness, incarceration and addiction. Early support from someone like you can change that trajectory. Olympic Angels is sponsoring a book read of Seattle journalist Claudia Rowe’s Wards of the State and it’s opening many eyes to these challenges and opportunities. (Free copies are still available at Imprint Bookstore, 820 Water Street.) The children who experience foster care here deserve better and that change begins with a more informed, compassionate community. Whether you’ve read the book or not, come be informed and inspired by a discussion with the author and locals who have lived experience with foster care.

PTMSC Low Tide Walk: Guided Intertidal Beach Experience – Sun, Aug 9th
Join the Port Townsend Marine Science Center for a guided Low Tide Walk at Fort Worden State Park. Led by trained naturalists, these walks explore tide pools and intertidal ecosystems in the Salish Sea, offering hands-on learning about marine life and coastal processes during low tide. Local 20/20 Weekly Announcements invites local photographers to submit images that capture the character of our community and its natural setting. For the opening photo of each weekly email (which is also posted to our website), we seek local color, horizontal (“landscape”) orientation, and jpeg format. Please no children, pets, or recognizable faces. Kindly email your photos, including your name in the jpeg filename. If you’re sending multiple images, please send one per email. We are an all-volunteer non-profit, so compensation for your talent and generosity is a photo credit and our profound thanks.
