Post-Disaster Utilities Issues – Tue, Oct 6th
The October 6 County Library presentation will be focused on Earthquake Preparedness specifically related to post-disaster utilities, and will include information about electricity and water, sanitation needs, and propane safety. The upcoming winter months often bring weather that can affect our utilities; this presentation will provide some helpful safety information.
The library has requested people register to attend.

Jefferson Marine Resources Committee Monthly Meeting – Tue, Oct 6th
The Jefferson Marine Resources Committee is a county advisory board that meets monthly to discuss local marine resource issues. Public attendance and voices are welcome! This month’s guest speaker is Dana Oster from the NW Straits Commission, who will be speaking about organizing a local derelict vessel turn in event.

Home composting class, last one until May 2027 – Sat, Oct 10th
Join an engaging interactive 90-minute workshop with instruction on how to create and maintain a healthy compost system with food and yard waste. Create compost to amend your soil, retain moisture, provide essential nutrients for your plants, & MORE! Workshop cost is $25. Participants will receive a $125 Earth Machine compost bin.

Port Hadlock Repair Event – Sat, Oct 10th
Join JeffCo Repair for this free community gathering in which people with repair skills share their time and talents to fix their neighbors’ belongings. Bring your toaster that no longer toasts, sweater with a hole in the elbow, and excitement to get these belongings repaired while also learning how they did it and ways you could do it yourself next time! Limit of 2 items per person. If you know the specific part needed to repair your item, please bring it along.

Dundee Hill Townhomes Grand Opening – Sat, Oct 10th
Olympic Housing Trust hosts the Dundee Hill Grand Opening! This event features tours of the newly completed homes and is open to the public and interested homebuyers. Homebuyer applications are available starting September 7th through October 15th. Event details and application forms are at the website.

Local 20/20 Weekly Announcements invites local photographers to submit images that capture the character of our community and its natural setting. For the opening photo of each weekly email (which is also posted to our website), we seek local color, horizontal (“landscape”) orientation, and jpeg format. Please no children, pets, or recognizable faces. Kindly email your photos, including your name in the jpeg filename. If you’re sending multiple images, please send one per email.
