Community Harvest

CH-logo2-2014

If you like free, organic, local fruit, working with great people and making a difference in our community, we hope you will join us this season!

Fruit Tree and Farm Gleaning Project

Gleaning is the ancient practice of gathering food left in the fields after harvest. Quimper Community Harvest extends this idea to picking excess fruit from local unsprayed trees as well. In the last 9 years we have picked countless tons of fresh food and delivered more than 68,000 pounds of apples, pears, plums, and vegetables to 4 local food banks, 5 public schools, senior meals programs, senior and low income housing facilities, the hospital, and the Boiler Room.  We have also planted an orchard of 70 fruit trees at Blue Heron Middle School.  Thanks to all those who donated fruit, vegetables, time and energy!
