Food For Thought: Update from the Food Bank – Tue, Jun 9th
What’s been happening at the Food Bank this past year? Board President Roland Faragher-Horwell will discuss recent and upcoming changes to how JCFBA acquires, manages, and distributes food to its customers. Appreciation for home gardeners’ donations and the best way to bring them to the Food Bank will be highlighted.
This free series offered by Quimper Grange examines “all things food & growing” in the area.

Friends of the East Jefferson County Trails Connections Public Meeting – Thu, Jun 11th
Peninsula Trails Coalition’s Olympic Discovery Trail Updates! PTC Executive Director Ann Livingston will gladly answer questions and provide the latest news and updates about the trail, especially related to east Jefferson County. This month’s discussion is all about the trail activities happening, the ways to enjoy and get involved with the ongoing and exciting progress underway which will one day complete the Olympic Discovery Trail.

North Olympic Peninsula Braver Angels: Building the Future We Want – Sat Jun 13th
What does a healthy, thriving future look and feel like to you? If you could make one change in our community to bring it closer to your ideal future, what would you change, and why? What’s happening in the world today that gives you hope for the future, and what is it about this that stands out for you? Olympic Peninsula Mindfulness Low Tide walks – Sat, Jun 13th
These Low Tide walks are moments when you can quiet your mind and sink into the natural scenes and silence of the beaches in and around Fort Worden State Park. Family Plein Air Art Class – Sat, Jun 13th
Bring your family’s love for the outdoors and creativity together in this Family Plein Air Art Class (French for “In open air”)! Join local artist Patricia Hagen to explore the stunning Valley View Forest in Chimacum. Along the way, she’ll highlight the colors, textures, and shapes of the natural world—helping you see nature through an artist’s eyes. After the walk, the class will gather at the Valley View Pavilion, where Patricia will share insights on materials, techniques, and styles, and guide you and your child to create your own nature-inspired artwork. This free class is open to families of all shapes and stripes! Art supplies provided free. Space is limited to 20 participants, so reserve your spot today! PTMSC Low Tide Walks: Guided Intertidal Beach Experiences – Sat, Jun 13th

Cougars of the Olympic Peninsula: A Weekend Intensive – Jun 13th-14th
Explore the hidden world of the Peninsula’s apex predator in this two-day introductory field course led by the Olympic Cougar Project’s Andrew Stratton. Through hands-on tracking, field outings, and practical tools for coexistence, you’ll gain a grounded understanding of cougar ecology, behavior, and the challenges these animals face in a changing landscape. For the opening photo of each weekly email (which is also posted to our website), we seek local color, horizontal (“landscape”) orientation, and jpeg format. Please no children, pets, or recognizable faces. Kindly email your photos, including your name in the jpeg filename. If you’re sending multiple images, please send one per email.
